Dr. Joaquin O. Loustaunau, a member of the mathematics department faculty from 1965 to 1997, passed away in Las Cruces on March 4, 2002.  The Dr. Joaquin Loustaunau memorial graduate scholarship fund has been established to aid graduate students who have a commitment to a career in mathematics or genetics.  Funds contributed to this scholarship will help support our talented but needy graduate students and serve to honor Dr. Loustaunau's memory and his many contributions to his field, his students, and to NMSU.
